Personal History

Mary has worked in Campus Ministry since 2000, first in Retreats and Faith Development and now in the Center for Social Concern. As the Coordinator of Cross-Cultural Immersions, she hopes to provide diverse options for service, learning, and cultural exchange for students at UD on trips domestically and abroad. Mary enjoys working with motivated students, faculty, and staff who are willing to do something different with their break times and contribute toward a sense of global solidarity. In addition to cross-cultural immersion work, Mary also is has been involved with other social justice issues on campus and in the greater community, including education and advocacy against the death penalty and the movement to close the School of the Americas/ WHINSEC. Mary grew up in Menomonee Falls, WI, but has called Dayton home for many years, where she lives with her husband, Patrick and their daughters Perry, Merrick and Valerie. She has a BS in Education and an MA in Theological Studies, both from UD. She is a lover of the outdoors and simple and sustainable living.
