Celebrating Black History

Three performances, a solidarity march, a celebration dinner and opportunities to meet students, faculty and staff with ties to Africa are among the public events at the University during Black History Month.

Perspectives on Peace

The University of Dayton's Speaker Series will continue after the semester break, featuring a leader in social justice issues; the author of Dead Man Walking, which was made into a movie that received four Academy Award nominations; and a celebrated playwright.

The University of Dayton is exploring issues around the death penalty in a series of events ranging from music, art, discussions and a visit by the nun who authored Dead Man Walking.

Project Congo 5K

A local charity, Project Congo, is organizing a 5K race on March 28 on the University's campus that will provide valuable assistance to women and children in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Documentary and Discussion: Crossing Borders

Staff members are invited to a screening and discussion of Crossing Borders on March 31 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. in Kennedy Union 222. This feature documentary follows four Moroccan and four American university students as they travel together through Morocco and, in the process of discovering the “Other,” discover themselves.
