SBA Eclipsing Excellence

In spring 2024, Professor Elizabeth Eichler's MKT 350 class embarked on an engaging project: conceptualizing and executing eclipse-oriented marketing content for the University of Dayton SBA.

The MKT 350. Digital Marketing course explores the internet's diverse role, emphasizing its significance in marketing, economics, and society. Students gain insights into its impact on marketing strategies, target markets, and the broader digital environment. E-commerce principles are closely studied, focusing on their application in managerial decision-making.

With the imminent 2024 Solar Eclipse casting a celestial spotlight on Dayton, teams were challenged to craft compelling narratives centered around this astronomical event. All submissions underwent rigorous evaluation against UD posting standards, ensuring seamless integration of marketing efforts. Under the supervision of Professor Eichler and the SBA's Digital Marketing Coordinator, Bryna Chandler, students defined target audiences, established objectives, and strategically planned the release and frequency of content. This project not only showcased the students' creativity and strategic prowess but also underscored the intersection of academia and real-world marketing challenges.

"It was inspiring to witness the students applying their MKT 350 course knowledge to develop real-world marketing strategies for the SBA," Chandler remarked. "The sheer creativity and enthusiasm displayed by these teams in generating diverse ideas, followed by the professionalism in executing them, was truly motivating."
