The Great Power of the Rosary--Excerpt from John Paul II's Message for World Youth Day 2003

Dear young people, do not be ashamed to recite the Rosary alone, while you walk along the streets to school, to the university or to work, or as you commute by public transport. Adopt the habit of reciting it among yourselves, in your groups, movements and associations. Do not hesitate to suggest that it be recited at home by your parents and brothers and sisters, because it rekindles and strengthens the bonds between family members. This prayer will help you to be strong in your faith, constant in charity, joyful and persevering in hope.

Keep Christ in Christmas Campaign (DefendLife.Org) October 13, 2017

With the ever-increasing secularization of Christmas, let's begin a new campaign known as Putting Christ Back into Christmas. Here is one simple way to do it. Erect Nativity Scenes in public places such as state capitals, county court houses, public parks, and in front of churches on heavily trafficked streets. Such Nativity scenes have already gone up in thirteen state capitals including such unlikely states as Illinois, California, and Massachusetts. Be aware of the following:

• There is ample legal precedent for such Nativity scenes known as the Establishment Clause.

• There is an anonymous donor who donates these beautiful Nativity scenes including the Christ child, Mary and Joseph, and an Angel, if we simply do our part.

• Obtain a permit (generally not a big deal) for a highly visible public location such as a state capital, county court house or park.

• Build or buy a small manger to accommodate this beautiful Nativity scene. To get started, visit AmericanNativityScene.com. Everything you need to know is right there. Obtain the needed permit or permission for the site. Go for the dates November 26 (the Saturday after Thanksgiving) through Saturday, January 6 (the Feast of the Epiphany) when the Three Kings arrived.

Here are some events that can easily accompany your Nativity scene.

• A lighting ceremony the night you put up your display.

• Christmas caroling in nearby neighborhoods the week before and after Christmas.

• An Epiphany event with children dressing as the Three Kings and bringing their family pets.
