Our Call to Shape the Future: Building a Place for All.

Join us as we remember and celebrate the life, the dream, and the actions for justice of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  The Center for Social Concern has partnered with the Office of Multicultural Affairs to get the campus involved in the march and rally, the Martin Luther King Social Justice Plunge, and series of other events surrounding Rev. MLK City of Dayton March
Monday, January 21, 9:00AM, meet in the Adele Center

Students will meet in Adele Center for breakfast and work on posters to use during the march. Transportation will be provided from UD to downtown Dayton to allow students to participate in the march. Participants will then attend the closing ceremony for the MLK March.

Dr. Beverly Daniel Tatum, best-selling author of Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria? and president, emerita, of Spelman College, will deliver the University's Annual Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Address. A clinical psychologist by training, Tatum is a nationally recognized authority on topics of racial identity development, race and education, strategies for creating inclusive campus environments and higher education leadership.

Table of Plenty Lunch and Discussion

Join us for our Table of Plenty celebrating Martin Luther King Week. The Table of Plenty is a monthly opportunity for open lunchtime discussion on a complex social justice topic. We hope to have people join us with a broad spectrum of opinions to join us for respectful conversation where all sides are heard. Free lunch provided. PATH eligible. RSVP by Wednesday, January 16 at noon.
